Executive Committee Meeting

April 8, 2003


Secretary's Report: approved.

Treasurer's Report: approved.

Committee Reports:

  1. Negotiations: Thanks for all the suggestions, They handed in a list of 36 items.
  2. Grievance: nothing new at this time
  3. Social:
    1. The deli trip was a success.
    2. There are still tickets available for the Broadway play, contact Linda Fowler.
  4. Ed Council: Nothing reported

Old Business:

  1. Constitution: There will be a general meeting on April 16th to discuss any changes.
  2. Snow day make up:
    1. The teachers will be going until June 23rd.
    2. The board and PEA are trying to come up with options concerning time for Dec. 5th snow make up.
  3. General Election: There is only one name for each office at this time. They are the same except for Nadine Anderson running for treasurer.

New Business:

  1. Pride Projects: nothing reported
  2. Summer Leadership: George has forms for those interested in attending the deadline is May 20th.
  3. Non-Tenure Teacher Rights: The date for notification to be re-hired is May 15th. The school budget comes out May 14th. There are minimal rights for non-tenure teachers.

Building concerns:

    Why does the board need the Para's high school transcripts?
  2. Teachers should not be doing their Para's evaluations. They should have input, but not doing it themselves.
  3. What should be done in buildings if you do not have a custodian to clean up after a child is ill, or any other messes?
  4. A substitute teacher was hired to home school instead of a regular teacher.
  5. Custodians have the choice to either take off Easter Monday or they can get a floating day off of their choice.
