Treasurer's
Report: approved.
Committee
Reports:
- Negotiations: Waiting
for the budget numbers to resume
negotiations
- Grievance: A small
victory for a member of the support staff
- Social:
- There are still tickets available for
the Broadway play. Contact Linda Fowler.
- Chuck has great information on the net about
the retirement dinner. Please check it out.
There are 8 retirees so far.
- Ed Council: Nothing
reported. The new calendar will be brought back to be
discussed.
Old
Business:
- Summer Leadership: There are 2
applicants
- Snow day make up:
- a. The teachers that reported and
signed in on December 5th, June 19th will be your
last day. This is contingent on if you have your
grades and classroom in order for the end of the
year.
- b. If you did not report on December 5th, then
the 20th will be your last day.
- School Calendar: This
will be brought back to Ed Council. At the General
meeting it was agreed that the workshop makeup date
was conditional to starting after September 1st.
New
Business:
1. Uproar for Fairness: The
rally for this will be held in Trenton on May 31,
2003. If you are interested, contact George. If the
response is high, they will check into getting a bus.
2. P.E.A. Alert: If you have an illegal
absence in NJ you can be fired and your teaching
license can be taken away.
3. Dues Increase: Dues haven't been raised
in a long time. This was discussed, and decided to be
shelved until next year.
4. Food Drive: The food band is in serious
short supply. We will be running a food drive until
May 23rd. Please see your building rep to donate
money. Thanks to John P. who has taken on this task
again and thank you to all whom help. Nadine made the
motion "to participate in a food drive" seconded by
Deb.
Building
concerns:
1. The district survey was on the
net, so it was anonymous.
2. Staff recognition should be handled the same at
all buildings.
3. Still having problems with the sub caller asking
questions. You do not have to answer all the
questions, just give her the information that she
needs.
Next meeting June 10, 2003
Respectfully submitted,
Marilyn Shober
