Secretary's
Report: approved.
Treasurer's
Report: approved.
Committee
Reports:
- Negotiations: The next meeting with the
Board will be June 17th. E-mail will be
coming out explaining that there will be a meeting on
August 28th at 6:00 a.m. at the Best
Western if negotiations are not finished before
then.
- Grievance: Nothing new at this time.
- Social:
- There are still tickets available for
Thoroughly Modern Millie. Contact Linda
Fowler.
- The Retirement Dinner was a success. It was a
nice time.
- Ed Council: There will not be a meeting
this month.
Old
Business:
None.
New
Business:
- A waiver was signed for the Support Staff to be
notified by the next Board meeting on June
23rd as to who will be rehired. Anyone who
is not rehired, will be paid until July
7th. (They must be given 2 weeks
notice.)
- A motion was made to give Carol Mertz and Mike
Kruczek $100.00 each for the N.E.A. convention. The
motion passed. There are several good causes, and
information that they need to sign up for.
- Lawmakers are trying to push for a Constitutional
Convention in New Jersey. NJEA is not for this. Some
of the items that could be affected are tenure and
medical benefits after 25 years of service. If this
comes to a vote, please vote against having one.
- Motion to approve the submitted budget for
September1, 2003-August 31, 2004 was passed.
Workshop at Flynn's on October 7th will
be opened to all staff. The main topic will be on
school law. More information will be forthcoming.
Building
concerns:
- Security guards are not eligible for comp time
concerning the December 5th snow day. Their
contract is for them to be present when the students
are here.
- Andover and Barber were the only schools
officially told to pack up their rooms to our
knowledge.
- Paid for moving? This is still not settled.
- If
you feel you are being harassed at work, you can fill
out a "hostile work environment" form.
If you are taking an emergency day, you have to
cross out family illness, and put
emergency.
Next meeting September 6, 2003
Respectfully submitted,
Marilyn Shober
