Executive Committee Meeting
June 8, 2004


Secretary's Report: On-line.

Treasurer's Report: Approved

Committee Reports:

  1. Negotiations: Jim has the proposed salary guide for the full time Paras done. He is now working on the proposed salary guide for part time. Security negotiations are not going very well.
  2. Grievance: The committee is trying to come up with one procedure for all the groups.
  3. Social:
    1. The retirement dinner was a huge success. Thanks to all those who planned this event. A date change for this event was tabled until September.
    2. Barb Alderfer is looking into topics for a PEA workshop in October.
  4. Ed Council: There was not an Ed Council meeting. Ground rules should be gone over and the meetings should be scheduled earlier next year so as to get the four contractually-required meetings in.

 Old Business:

  1. Calendar: George will look into seeing if the calendar can be changed. Most schools get out earlier. We are driven by our graduation. This was tabled until September. It needs more discussion.
  2. Discipline: This is still a major problem. Freeman school has a discipline committee, which seems to heading in the right direction.
  3. T-shirts: 575 shirts have been ordered. These can be worn on the full day in-services. More information on this will be coming in September.

 New Business:

  1. NEA Convention: Motion to give the each representatives $100.00 for the NEA Convention. Passed

Building concerns:

  1. Pride grant - George will bring it to PMS
  2. Need volunteers for the Old Towne Festival. Please contact Cindy Perio at Green St. if you can help out. Dates are a Saturday & Sunday in July.
