Committee Reports:

  1. Negotiations:
    1. Nothing reported at this time.
  2. Grievance:
    1. Nothing new at this time.
  3. Social:
    1. Deli trip is all set, just waiting for May 1st.
    2. Retirement dinner: A motion was made to set a deadline starting next year 2005-2006, and for all years after, that only those individuals approved for retirement by the first board meeting in April will be honored at that year's retirement dinner. Motion: The PEA Retirement Dinner will honor individuals whose retirements have been approved before the first Board Meeting in April. Motion passed.
  4. Ed Council:
    1. The next meeting will be May 11th. They have not seen the calendar yet - hopefully at this next meeting.

Old Business:

  1. Scholarship Committee:
    1. Motion: Provide money for the selection committee to eat during the selection process. Passed. The place and time will be forthcoming. If you are interested in being on the selection committee, let Joan Ricker know.
  2. PMS Health Issue:
    1. The doctor will do a walk through and do background work on the land use and of number of cancer cases in town. There will be a survey in the school.

New Business:

  1. Summer Leadership: Will be held August 6th-12th. If you are interested, let Barb or George know. The deadline for submitting your name is May 20, 2005. If you request a private room, you will be charged the difference between a double and a private.
  2. Voting: If you will be absent on April 21st, you can see your building rep for an absentee ballot. George or Gail Barbadora will get a list out to each building of those who are eligible to vote. The ballots will be counted at the end of the school day in room 150 at PHS @ 3:30.

Building concerns:

  1. Cell phone use was revisited: You can use your phone, but be discreet. You should not be using it during your professional time.
  2. Book and Dessert Club needs to reapply for the Pride money.
  3. The flood day will be made up on May 31st.
  4. Need to have administrators contact those who are being moved earlier than before. About 60 people might be moved.
  5. More information will be forthcoming from Marian concerning "Bring your Child to Work" Day.
  6. Several Paras went to a workshop "Bridging the Gap". It was very interesting and helpful.
