For the first time since 2000, all seven local school districts passed their school budgets! The three year passage rates noted above in the table are the highest they have been since 1999-2001 when four districts had 100% passage rate and the other three had 67%. NJEA members can take pride in being part of the successful passages of these seven school budgets. Especially since we know better than most the consequences of not passing school budgets: defeated school budgets result in a loss of programs for students and jobs for staff.

If every one of the over 700 NJEA members living in the Phillipsburg area, along with their families and friends, vote in favor of the local school budgets on April 18, every budget will pass again. If you are not certain where to vote, polling locations, addresses and times can be found on the back of this letter. Results of the votes will be available on Wednesday, April 19, at http://www.pburgea.org.

Respectfully,

Charles Nowalk, chairperson
PEA ad hoc School Budgets Committee
