PHILLIPSBURG | School board officials want to begin reviewing the district's policies in the next several months.

School board member Chafik Zarbatany Jr. said the last review of district policy was in 2002, and the most recent review before that was 15 years ago.

"We're going to start going over policy again," Zarbatany said.

Zarbatany said the district's current policy for food and travel reimbursements includes $5 for breakfast, $7 for lunch, and no more than $60 a night for a hotel.

"I don't know where you can go" for that price, Zarbatany said.

Zarbatany said he would like the board's policy committee to meet a minimum of four times a year to prevent policy from lapsing in the future.

In other district news, the board approved the American Cancer Society's use of the Phillipsburg High School stadium for its annual Relay for Life fundraiser June 10 and 11.

Initially, relay organizers thought 2005 was their last year at the high school because of plans to install new turf in the football stadium.

Last year's relay drew 1,800 people, and organizers are estimating between 2,000 and 2,400 people for this year's relay.
