Contract bidsWednesday, May 31, 2006 The Express-TimesThe Phillipsburg School Board voted Tuesday 8-4 in favor of putting professional services out to bid. The board will look into extending the contract date to allow time to review applicants. School board President Paul Rummerfield asked the board to advertise for board attorney, labor attorney, health insurance provider, auditor and treasurer of school monies. He said the positions are historically approved each year without discussion and the board could save money by reviewing the positions. Board member Chafik Zarbatany Jr. voted against the proposal, saying he wanted to review the list of professional employees and wanted to know who was interviewing applicants. © 2006 The Express-Times.
