PHILLIPSBURG -- The Phillipsburg Board of Education will hold a special meeting tonight to discuss the status of the new Phillipsburg High School project. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Phillipsburg Middle School, 525 Warren St.

School district officials learned last week that the roughly $90 million high school had been cut from a list of projects the New Jersey Schools Construction Corp., a state agency, will pay for with the last $1.4 billion of a special fund.

Phillipsburg Superintendent Gordon Pethick, who has promised to keep the high school project moving forward, will lead the meeting.
