•  Eight (8) PEA members were feted at the annual Retirement Dinner held at the Almond Tree Manor in Alpha on May 26. The eight include Loretta Adamitis, Jean DeStreel, Gloria McCluskey, Judy Merlo, Carol Mertz, Phyllis Moser, Ralph O'Connell & Bobbi Ricci. • Click here to view the first-ever PEA Scholarship winners! On the evening of June 1 at the high school's annual 'Awards Night' celebration, these three young ladies, who graduated in June 2005 from PHS, were awarded $500 scholarships to continue their education. All monies were donations from the members of the PEA: custodial & maintenance staff, para-professionals, secretaries, security personnel & teachers.

•  The deadline for para-professionals to become 'highly qualified' under NCLB regulations was extended from January 2006 to June 2006. This announcement was made in June. Click here to read more about this item.
